Max Speed: 17.98 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 23 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Tuesday 27th August – Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe – mainly sunny.

Foil – 17.98 knot max, 16.58 knot ave, 8.59 knot hour, 16.28 knot mile, 37.18 km., 13.48 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

The forecast was for a 15 knot southerly and the wind did show signs of building so I drove down to Squiz Lane at The Manor for 9.30 and there looked enough to tempt me out with the same kit as yesterday but the 6.5 was too small today and I should have rigged my 7.5 but am not keen on that heavy set-up! I did enjoy some really top long runs but had to pump hard to get flying most of the time and had long spells of floundering around. I actually got a better top speed and mile than yesterday, that was when I had a mega 3 mile run downwind to see the small coaster that is moored off Felixstowe, still can’t complain as August has been a top month for windsurfing with a years best 17 sessions covering 322 miles:) As Tuesday is our Mary visiting afternoon and we were having maeva too I packed up around 12.30 and headed for home.

Walk *** Around Felixstowe

We picked Maeva up in the van and checked Dan and Jays back garden as Dan has been very busy clearing rubbish:) We then spent an hour or so with Mary before walking down to the seafront past Harvest house coming out at The Fludyers by which time Maeva was fast asleep! We ambled back home before taking Maeva home, there are some light wind days coming so will hopefully head over to Colchester to pick up my replacement Starboard Freeride foil:)
